Diana Loll

Artist Bio: Originally I am form Colombia, but was raised in Western Pennsylvania where I learned to love chipped ham, all things black and gold, hard workers and french fries on my salads. Currently a student at Allegheny College, I majored in Art History and have become fascinated with the idea and theology of identity and womanhood.

Artist Statement: As an artist I want to find a way to redefine the female image and develop a visual vocabulary of self and identity. I am deeply inspired by Edward Hopper while challenged by Balthus and attempt to incorporate their strong understanding of light and form into my own works along with finding a way to deconstruct their masculine representations of women. I work with a bright pallet and attempt to infuse my creations with a sense of color harmony and complementation.
